Nan
Berrett

Based in the Clare Valley with an office in Gawler, South Australia, as well as reaching you wherever you are through Zoom technology, I am an award-winning former rural journalist, who has had 24 years’ experience in media. I turned my attention to my own media and marketing business 14 years ago.
My wide range of experiences as a journalist and small business owner - which has encompassed MLM sales, art gallery owner, gift shop co-owner, health food store owner and many other roles have put me in a unique position to help other small business owners navigate the new world of business.
With a love for gadgets, new apps and most technology, I keep up with changes in the digital space which often confuse new business owners and others wanting to grow their enterprises or keep pace with the evolving world we live in.
My work has included a specialisation in local government media requirements as well as social media training, support and management for local government and small business.
For the past decade I have provided coaching and mentoring support to small business owners to help them navigate our fast-paced digital world.
Client assistance includes social networking training (such as Facebook and LinkedIn), use of AI technology, media training, media liaison and grant content writing.
I present workshops on the ever-evolving use of AI technology to help businesses save time and money, use of the versatile online graphic design tool, Canva, social media best practice, how to set up and optimise your online presence and so much more.
I am a proud older woman in business, an alumna of the National Rural Women’s Coalition e-Leaders program and a graduate of Flinders University's Venture Dorm, an award-winning pre-accelerator program for entrepreneurs, and I like nothing better than to help businesses get the most out of digital technology and resources.

Founder, Coach & Mentor
Nan Berrett
Award-winning former rural journalist turned business coach and mentor, Nan has been working with small businesses and organisations across South Australia for over 14 years. After 24 years in media she pivoted into running her own consultancy - partly by accident, mostly by instinct - and hasn't looked back.
Nan specialises in coaching and mentoring for ADHD and neurodivergent business owners, alongside delivering communications, writing and digital training through Word Solutions. She is particularly passionate about supporting older women in business, because she is one.
2024 Freedom Awards - Faith Award Winner | 2024 SA Woman to Watch | Finalist SA Woman Awards 2021 | Multiple SA media award winner including SA Media Awards (rural/regional news and feature) | Premier's Certificate for Outstanding Volunteer Service

Digital Support Specialist & Workshop Presenter
Megan Berrett
With 16 years of experience supporting small businesses, Megan brings a rare combination of creative thinking and organisational precision to everything she does. She specialises in social media strategy, content management and streamlining the administrative side of running a business - so her clients can focus on the parts they actually love.
Megan's approach is professional but genuinely warm, and she has a particular talent for making complex business operations feel manageable. When she's not building content strategies or taming to-do lists, you'll find her with a good book, a strong coffee and two ragdoll cats offering moral support from somewhere on her desk.

Chief Greeter & Quality Control (biscuits)
Charlie The Helpful Dog
Charlie is a 14-year-old Spoodle (Cocker Spaniel/Poodle cross) and the most senior member of the team by disposition if not by title.
She works from Nan's home office in the Clare Valley, primarily from underneath the desk, and takes her greeting responsibilities very seriously - despite being almost entirely deaf.
Her sense of smell, however, remains impeccable, which is useful when she is on quality control duty.
She thinks she's special.
She probably is.
Mission
To help emerging and established small business owners navigate their business journey and have a reason to look forward to getting up in the morning!

Vision
To encourage small business owners to thrive and achieve success.

Values
Empowerment through Knowledge
I believe that when we understand how things work -whether it’s business strategy, digital tools, or our own mindset - we gain real power. My role as a mentor and coach is to share what I know in ways that make sense and help you feel confident taking the next step.
Authentic Connection
Real relationships matter. I work closely with my clients, creating safe, supportive spaces where you can be yourself, ask questions and explore what’s possible. I believe good business starts with trust and genuine connection.
Growth & Lifelong Learning
I’m a lifelong learner, and I encourage the same curiosity and openness in my clients. Whether it’s through coaching, mentoring, journaling, or structured planning, I’m here to help you grow in ways that feel aligned and sustainable.
Clarity & Practicality
I value simplicity and structure. I help you cut through the noise, untangle the overwhelm, and focus on what really matters, so you can move forward with clarity, purpose and a solid game plan.
Service & Support
At the heart of everything I do is a desire to be of service. I work with purpose-led people, especially older women in business and those doing meaningful work, because I care about making a difference, not just making noise.
Integrity in Communication
I believe in saying what I mean and doing what I say. Clear, honest communication builds strong partnerships, and it’s the foundation of how I work with every client.
Things I love
I love shiny objects and often chase them - which means I have varied interests and am always learning. Here are some of the organisations I support and the things I love.
